A Winning Combination

Hi There,

We’ve all been there - a delayed connection, that run through the airport, and (best case scenario) sweatily making it to your seat. I fondly (in hindsight) remember sprinting across HKG to hop on a soon-to-be-departing flight to New York after a connecting flight back to Boston was canceled (fun fact: it’s nearly a mile across the concourse). Fortunately, I made it - comfortably - thanks in large part to my Apollo Dress Shirt and Kinetic Suit.

The proving ground for this outfit happened back in 2015, when the team and I decided to tackle the Guinness World Record for “Fastest Half-Marathon in a Suit” - we needed a combination that could take me sub-6:30 pace for 13.1 miles.

The challenges when you’re going for a world record are no joke - we’re talking 4x the heat, 4.3x the sweat and 2.5x the range of motion compared to walking. Plus (in this case) you have to do it all while looking sharp (GWR records says no outfit adjustments - the blazer stays on!).
